At the hearing you will be required to provide information which satisfies the Tribunal that the patient continues to require an involuntary order.
You will need to state the type of harm which may occur to the patient or others if the order does not continue. You will also need to address why the order is the only viable way that the risk of harm can be reduced.
As the least restrictive alternative for the patient will always be voluntary treatment you will need to satisfy the Tribunal that this is not appropriate for the patient at this time.
At the Tribunal hearing the members of the Tribunal, or the patient or any person attending on the patient's behalf, can question you as to the patient's diagnosis, treatment, history, compliance or insight. You should be in a position to answer these queries or ensure that you are accompanied by a person who can.
You should ensure that the patient's file relating to the current order is available to the Tribunal half an hour prior to the commencement of the days hearings.
